The following is a test of the Emergency Blogcast System

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Don’t you hate it when a favorite television show is interrupted by a warning symbol and a man saying, “This is a test.  For the next thirty seconds, this station will conduct a test of the Emergency Broadcast System.  This is only a test”?  I cover my ears before the sound that follows those words blares from the speakers or I hit the mute button if the remote is handy.  But the warnings are important.  Someday that sound may not follow the words, “this is only a test.”

I was with a group of Bible study leaders when someone asked, “When was the last time you heard a preacher deliver a sermon on hell?”  No one at the table could remember.  So because I want my readers to be “warned” I am sending out this alert:

This is a test.  For the next several paragraphs, I will conduct a test of the Emergency Blogcast System.  This is only a test.

The blogcaster of your area, in voluntary cooperation with the Holy Spirit and biblical authority has developed this system to keep you informed in the event of a Second Coming.

If this had been the actual return of Christ, you would have been instructed to turn to Romans 10:9 which says, “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.'”

This concludes this test of the Emergency Blogcast System.

But in all honesty, if this had been the actual return of Christ, it would be too late to give your heart and life to Jesus and be saved.

Hebrews 9:28 says, “So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”

2 Peter 3:10 says, “The day of the Lord will come like a thief.  The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.”

Revelation 22:12 says, “Behold, I am coming soon!  My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.”

There is a heaven.  There is a hell.  Everyone who is born is given the chance to choose salvation.  Some people do not make the right choice.  The number one priority that every Christian should live with each day is this:  “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

I hope no one hits the mute/delete button and ignores the warning.  One day, it will be an actual emergency.   I want all of my readers to be prepared!
