Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. - Proverbs 3:5–6
Why are only God’s blessings perfect for us?

Living with wisdom is living with the perspective of God. Too often we think the promise of future blessings or the certainty of past blessings provides satisfaction with our lives. We want to plan for the future and be assured all will be well. We look back and count our past blessings and think, All that I need has been provided.
Solomon would tell us we need today’s wisdom. God cannot bring your future blessings without today’s wisdom. God has blessed your past, but without today’s wise choices, how will he continue to provide abundantly?
Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, said, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Today, we can’t lean on what we think we know or understand. If we want God to “make straight your paths,” we have to “acknowledge him” in all the ways of today.
You have never lived this day before and neither has anyone else. That’s why only God’s directions are perfect. Only he has wisdom for today. You might pray, Lord, I need your wisdom for today. I trust you with all my heart and submit this day, with all its hopes and concerns, to your omniscient leadership. I want to acknowledge you today and walk only where you lead, trusting your Spirit to keep my paths straight.
Living with wisdom is a path to God’s blessings. We have Solomon’s wisdom for this day and every day ahead. Yesterday is a memory. Tomorrow is a hope. Today is the day to receive and walk in the wisdom of God. Today’s perfect blessings await.
